Fahri Hamzah is very sorry for giving the Presidential Election Debate Gratings

JAKARTA- Arief Budiman, Chairperson of the KPU, said that the presidential and vice-presidential candidate pairs would be given a problem before the operation of the first debate in the 2019 Presidential Election. The two candidate pairs got a problem one week before the presidential election debate.

Fahri Hamzah as Deputy Chairperson of the House deeply regretted the KPU's decision. Fahri assessed, if the candidate pair was given a problem issue, the presidential election debate would look like a quiz contest.

"So first, I am very sorry for what the KPU did," said Fahri Hamzah.

"This is not a quiz, it must have academic research under the documents that will later become the material of conversation that is brought before the candidates," he continued.

Fahri said, the candidate pair should have understood beyond the question about the problem in Indonesia. By sharing the problem issue, the KPU resulted in the cadres only remembering what would be done in solving the country's problems.

"That must be explained outside the head. If that's not there then who is he? This is not a person who wants to pass a college exam or want to work in a company, but it is people who will lead a big country, "he said.

Fahri considered, the KPU now seemed to fail to understand by distributing the problem issue debate to the candidate pairs. Fahri also suspected the KPU's attempt to put forward a debate operation.

"So in my opinion the KPU is rather misleading and deserves people to suspect him as formatted to simplify this fight or competition," he concluded.

Hopefully the KPU can consider the decision. And it is very unfortunate if the KPU fails to provide socialization of the vision and mission vision of the 2019 presidential election candidates. And it is very unfortunate too, if the KPU discloses a list of issues in the presidential election debate.
